Pirates? What pirates?!

Well, Adam and I went to see Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest tonight and I am still trying to come down from an angry high.

I must say, I am extremely disappointed in the movie. The visual affects were amazing, although somewhat disgusting and disturbing. There is no doubt that the effects team will win awards for their work.

However, sometimes the effects just cant beat out the horror that is a story line, or in this case, lack there of. What the hell?! Every now and then new plots would just jump out of nowhere and just when I thought I was being set free by the movie ending, OH NO, here comes another possible story line. Were they trying to make it out to be a "choose your own adventure story"?!

And just how many times does a giant octopus need to try to eat you before you buck up and get the damn thing, or get the hell out of it's way?! Common!

It was the longest 2 and a half hours of my life!  Perhaps it is partly my own fault for not enjoying it. I had my expectations set beyond high, mainly because I enjoyed the first one so much. How can anything even come remotely close to comparing to the perfection of the first movie?! I didnt even think Johnny Depp was near as wonderful this time around. There was nothing sexier than Johnny Depp as a drunken pirate, but his heart just didnt seem to be as into it this time.

I am extremely disappointed and it makes me wonder if there is even a point of waiting out the third of the trilogy. Grrrr on pirates!
