So this morning, I was all excited to get up and go to The Sassy Bead Co. I am going to have the girl's jewellery made for the wedding. I went online to transfer some moula over so I could pay for it and I couldnt even get into online banking.
After many phone calls and me being not so nice to the people who refused to help me, I had one young man who was more than helpful. I think his name was Pierre. So thank you Pierre!
He was almost not going to help me but I think he sensed how mad and frustrated I was that I had been on the phone with 4 people and everyone kept saying someone else would help me when no one actually was. I wasnt nice to him at first because I was so mad. He finally told me what was going on.
I am the victim of "card scimming", which is when someone runs your card through their debit machine at a store, kiosk, restaurant, etc. Then they copy your card number and watch as you enter your pin. Then they can make a plastic card with a computer chip in it to match your information.
Mine was used in Laval, Quebec last night at 7:09pm (when I was at an art show with a client) and they deposited an empty envelope for $500 and took out $480 of it, that was not actually there.
So today, instead of shopping, making jewellery, and having fun before work, I have to go to the bank and fill out forms to launch an investigation.
